National Tree Collections of Scotland

The Friends of the Botanic Gardens have now advanced the project for the National Tree Collections of Scotland and we have now appointed Consultants Ross Associates, following our grant award from Central Scotland Green Network.

They are to develop the project to enable us to make a full funding application early in 2013. A major part of the project is public consultation so local and specialist groups will be contacted in the near future.

In essence the project is to tell the story of the major Tree collections in Glasgow Botanic Gardens and other gardens in Scotland as well as those involved in expeditions worldwide, including William Hooker and David Douglas
