Education
We aim to enhance the international educational value of botanic gardens world-wide and support educational activities and training programmes aimed at nature lovers of all ages and skill levels.
Certificate in Practical Horticulture
The RBGE Certificate of Practical Horticulture at Glasgow is a 10-day course delivered on weekends twice per year, in Spring and late Summer.

The Library at the Botanics
Glasgow Botanic Gardens holds an impressive collection of resources available to staff, students, researchers and members of the Friends.

Tours
Since 2023, the Friends have offered tours of the Botanics. Our tours are a free, accessible way to explore the Gardens and learn about plants, local history and more.
We are always looking for more guides, so if you have wanted to spend some time learning more about the Gardens, training to become tour guide is an excellent way to do this, to meet people and to give back to the community.
The Guides are a friendly and welcoming group of volunteers who work collaboratively to share knowledge and deliver tours. No formal training or expertise in gardening or botany is required, just an enthusiasm for the Gardens. Please get touch if you would like to learn more!
